When your hair looks good you feel good. On days when I don’t feel like putting make up on if I take the time to do my hair it keeps me feeling good. On days I don’t take the time I scare myself as I pass by store windows. Here are some ways I keep my hair looking and feeling great.
I don’t usually buy the expensive stuff for my everyday hair washings. My go to brand for awhile has been the Garnier avocado oil shampoo and conditioner. The scent is amazing and doesn’t leave residue in my hair like some brands. I also like that these are Vegan products and makes me feel like I’m doing my part in helping the environment. When I am not using this one I use the Herbel Essence brand.
I have colored/highlighted my hair since I was in 7th grade….sooo a LONG time. As I’ve gotten older my hair health has become even more important to me so once sometimes twice a week I make sure that I am doing some sort of treatment on it. I recently became a brunette, but when I was a blonde my favorite purple shampoo /conditioner was the Drybar’s Blonde Ale. Not only did it make my hair a pretty blonde but it put the moisture back into it. Now that I am brunette I am still researching the best option for me, but for the time being I am going to be testing out the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Multi Tone Revealing products; Stay tuned for my results; I also really love
If I could go back in time I wish I was able to tell young me don’t be so stubborn and use protect your hair. When I first started using heat products I refused to use heat protectant and DESTROYED my hair. I mean I had to cut so much off and do so many deep treatments to bring it halfway back to normal. I have recently started using the Drybar’s Hot Toddy (If you can’t tell I love their stuff) spray mist. But I also like to keep it simple and use the TRESemme heat spray. Basically use what you want just make sure you use it!
Washing your hair everyday is a no no. I wash my hair every 2 days on a good week but sometimes with Mom life it can be every 3. Obviously I don’t want to look like a grease ball so in between washings I use Drybar’s Detox Dry Shampoo and Conditioner. I also really like the Amika brand as well. They both smell amazing and you’d never be able to tell my hair isn’t freshly washed.
Try Non Heat Hairstyles

- Use a wide toothed comb on wet hair, or a brush specially designed for wet hair.
- DON’T TEASE-This destroys the texture of your hair, and lets be honest brushing out a tease is a pain.
- Try not to pull excessively I love the coil ponytails and scrunchies. They still keep your hair out of your face without pulling it all out.
