Ok, so I’m going to level with you here. I am not a camper. I enjoy going on hikes, sitting around a fire pit, I dont even mind sitting on a boat and cruising around. I draw the line at tents and sleeping outside, going in lake water, and really not feeling the whole camper experience. My version of vacation is packing all my favorite things, planning where I’m going to go eat, and staying in a hotel.
I know I’m letting my snob show. My husband grew up going camping, going to the lake all that stuff basically we come from two different worlds. Because marriage is about compromise our camping adventures have turned into cabin rentals at our favorite spots. It’s a win win for both. Here soon we are going to head to the lake with my in-laws for a long weekend getaway. I am so excited to get out of the house and create some new memories….with social distancing of course.
When going places my husband and I try to get as close as possible to the action. The lake we’re going to doesn’t have hotels that are close it’s actually like a 15 min drive and to do that constantly wastes so much time. That being said we rented a cabin on Airbnb. If you have not used this website/app I totally recommend it! To book is super easy…
This is what will pop up when you go to their website. It’s a pretty standard looking travel site. Input where you’re going, how long, and how many people.
As shown above once you enter in your information it will take you to the next page showing all your options. I personally like to rent an entire place to myself so I always make sure to filter it so I only see places with that availability.
Once you select the place that best fits your needs you reserve it and boom you’re all set! It’s such a great idea when you want to feel more like a local and less like a tourist.
We rented this adorable lake house right next to the water. It’s got loads of space for our family and has excellent reviews.
The person we are renting from has been so amazing so far. She has answered all my questions within a timely manner and her homes page is well filled out so I have an idea of what I am going to need to bring, because it is still camping and our car will be stuffed with literally everything and the kitchen sink.
Check back to see more about this travel series. I’ll go over what were cooking, activities, and most importantly what I will be wearing.
Now that we have officially entered Fall I personally feel like it’s acceptable to bring on Spooky Szn. Here is a list of my favorite ways to get into the spooky spirit *no pun intended 👻*
Lately I have been longingly looking at travel sites pretend planning on our future family trips. If I’m being honest my imagination is starting to get out of hand and out of my budget. While I look at a ton of different places I find myself going back to the same trips over and over. […]
August 1st is the first official day of Fall in my book. I have pulled out all, well most of my Fall decor, and after getting things out I decided my transitional scents are just not going to cut it any longer. Luckily I had prepared for this moment and ordered a bunch of candles […]
